My Heart Dropped!
Goodness! I knew it was too good to be true! As the gardener was conjecturing as to the date of the building, Mr.Darcy himself suddenly came forward from the road. It was almost impossible to to avoid his sight, it just happened so quickly. Our eyes met instantly, and I blushed like crazy; that was so embarrassing. For a moment, we just stared at each other in surprise, then he made the move and came toward us. Everyone was surprised to see him, including the gardener. He spoke to me first, and embarrassment just overcame me. I do not think I handled it well, he asked about my family and Longbourn, and ofcourse I had to answer him. Afterwards, he left, then he came back. By the time he came back I had somewhat composed myself, we had an almost normal conversation. Then, I introduced him to my aunt and uncle. What an embarrassing day!

Understand that this reaction from you to Darcy manifests that there is still love between the two of you, if only a little. There is no need to feel embarrassed. Love can have different effects on people in different situations. Remember that it can make us jittery, nervous and embarrassed.

ReplyDeleteI can imagine you are embarassed but i would not worry too much because i'm sure his feelings are mutual. I hope everything goes well between you two, because i'm sure he has the same strong feelings for you. Try to be kind and let the past go, it's for the best.
